Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is an American actress and singer. She is born in 1980 and is a Michigan native who was born and fostered by her parents, Lorelei Frygier (a nurse) and Tom Bell (a TV news director). She is of Polish (mother's) and German (father's), English, Irish and Scottish ancestry. Kristen discovered her talents in entertainment as a young stage of her life. In 1992, she was awarded her first part in an audition for Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mother signed her up with an agency before her 13th birthday. She was then featured in TV commercials as well as newspaper advertisements. As well as having private lessons and acting lessons, she started her career around that time. Bell had a small uncredited part in the film Polish Wedding (1998) in 1998. Bell attended Shrine Catholic High School where she was involved in music as well as drama. Bell was cast as Dorothy in the school production that was The Wizard of Oz. Bell was a student at an institution called the Tisch School of the Arts where she studied Musical Theater in New York City. Bell left her studies in 2001 and assumed the role of Becky who is a character from Tom Sawyer. Her first film credit with Pootie Tang in 2001. Her scene, however cut, and Bell's only role is the final credits. Bell appeared in Broadway on Broadway in The Crucible, a revival that featured Liam Neeson with Angela Bettis.
